"Everything in moderation" is the taste2day way.

We believe that drastic detox is not as good for you as you may think. It is unrealistic and usually means that a month down the line it's back to our old ways with vengeance!

SO, our advice is to be good to yourself. Don't deprive yourself of all things tasty and treat yourself . . . Why do you think people suffer from the January blues? Your body goes into shock after spoiling ourselves one day to then having nothing over night!

St. Mary's Country Inn

"Classic pub grub and imaginative gastro style specials to accommodate all tastes"

St. Mary's Country Inn has recently been refurbished and offers a contemporary interior, with modern twists, emphasizing the original building to create a comfortable, relaxed dining and drinking atmosphere on two levels, linked through a stunning open fire place. The new St Mary's is all about relaxed drinking and dining in a stylish country pub where the regulars will, nonetheless, still feel at home as soon as they step through the door as the old ambience is still there.

Look out for the feature wine walls and the interesting use of fusion glass, used to create a choice of drinking and dining areas. Although the new menu reflects the trend for gastro dining, it combines the old 'best sellers' with new dishes. Diners can also choose portion sizes, including children who can order smaller portions from the choice of a dozen dishes on the main menu and vegetarians are well catered for with a selection of interesting dishes. Steve Purcell, the St. Mary's manager said "we are very aware of changing tastes and food fashions, our menus reflect a balance between well cooked classic pub grub and imaginative gastro style specials to accommodate all tastes. The wine list is a bit different too.there are just three prices, but with plenty of choice, including half litre carafes.

In the grounds of St Mary's Country Inn there is a fabulous alfresco area with feature planting, the perfect place to eat and drink on those warm sunny days, it even has a fire pit to ward off any early evening chill.

We're convinced the relaxed atmosphere, improved service and quality of food will quickly establish St. Mary's as a great venue for customers who are looking for something a little special. Steve is looking forward to welcoming back regulars and meeting some new faces, so if you want imaginative food at reasonable prices, along with a great selection of beers and guest ales all served in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in Jersey; you now know where to go!

Valentines Day is a day to celebrate love and romance. Whether romance to you is candy hearts, love letters or a cup of tea in the morning, this day gives everyone an excuse to spoil their significant other.

If you have not got someone to take out/take you out then you can still celebrate on this day. Why not pamper yourself? Getting a group of friends together and having a good catch up over a bottle of wine can be good fun!

In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentines        would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on

Dix Neuf Think Pink
Champagne
The ladies at Dix Neuf joined 'The Pink Ladies' for their Sunset Coastal Walk to raise funds for the breast cancer support group and Les Bourgs Hospice.

The walk was approximately 10.5 miles-long and started at 6am in the morning. Gary Burgess, the breakfast presenter at BBC Guernsey, got the ladies in the mood at the start line with back-to-back disco classics.

The walk was held in memory of Anne McMillan, who, with Doreen Le Poidevin and four others founded the Pink Ladies in 2001.

Although Anne survived breast cancer, she later lost her battle with a very rare type of unrelated cancer last year. She died at her family home in the Vale on Monday 17 November.

The ladies at Dix Neuf raised an impressive £500 for the charity and as you can see they looked wonderful dressed up in pink! Well done girls.
